The largest payroll comes from Oklahoma State Reformatory, with 250 men and women working here. 950-999 inmates are housed at the maximum security facility. The institution has agricultural operations, with irrigated land, welding and auto-mechanics, vo-tech program, full accredited secondary educational facility, with talk-back television classes and an inmate law library, and a fully equipped medical building.
Willis Granite Products originated in 1902 as Pellow Bros. and was purchased in 1948 by J.R. Willis. In 1983, J.R.'s son Bill, his wife Ellen and their three daughters purchased the facilities. The unique operation currently combines granite quarry and processing plant with the design and construction of family and civic memorials. Their work is found across the United States, and projects have been completed in Africa, Russia, Japan, and France. Some of the more notable state attractions are: the Johnny Bench and Mickey Mantle statue bases found at the Brick Town Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Old Greer County Hall of Fame, Oklahoma State Veteran's Memorial in Oklahoma City, and Cattle Trail Map in the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.
