The company “Radford” came close to ours and two other homes here in Mangum. www.umich.edu 1999 __________________________________________ (4) The Historical Society cannot confirm the stories I have been told about the placing of one upside down spindle in homes of this era to ward off evil spirits. I have seen two homes in Mangum with upside down spindles, one with theirs on the second floor landing, third from the end. The other home, seventh from the top of the stairs.
