Lisa Watt Melchior Lisa holds the position of Assessor for Mayes County in Northeast Oklahoma. She has worked in the Assessor’s office since January 1997. As a founding member of The Saline Preservation Association www.salinecourthouse.net (501-c-3 non-profit), Lisa serves as President. This is a position she has held since 2003. It is through involvement with Historic Preservation that she has been given the opportunity to also serve as Vice-President of the Board for the statewide non-profit, Preservation Oklahoma (www.preservationok.org). Living just outside the town of Pryor Creek, Lisa and her husband, Paul, continue to work on restoring their own historic 1911 foursquare farm house. Lisa loves history and is actively involved with the Cherokee Historical Society, Oklahoma Historical Society, Oklahoma Anthropological Society, National Trail of Tears, Friends of Will Rogers, National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Mayes County Historical Society. |
